Recent Project: |
Conducted performance data analysis of hundreds of wells in the Permian Basin to determine EUR and generate representative forecast profiles. The workflow included data validation, traditional decline curve analysis, typecurve matching, generation of oil/gas forecast production profiles, and estimation of ultimate recovery volumes.

Decline Curve Analysis |
Decline curve analysis is a traditional means of predicting future oil well or gas well production based on past production history.
We provide the following services -
- Estimation of EUR
- Application of both traditional Arps and Fetkovich methods for enhanced confidence levels of parameter values estimated
- Estimation of recoverable reserves, with client-specific time/rate cutoffs

Pressure Transient Analysis |
Pressure transient analysis provides vital data towards estimation of virgin reservoir pressure, permeability approximation of the reservoirs and the well completion efficiency.
Deliverables of Pressure Transient Analysis -
- Deliverable capacity of the Well
- Hydrocarbon reservoir estimation through volumetric.
- Determination of the Skin factor
- Mobility of the Fluid (k/µo)
- Radius of Investigation
- Type curve matching – multiple well and reservoir geometries, and outer boundary conditions
- Use of the powerful PPD tool (Primary Pressure Derivative) to more critically identify flow regimes and discount storage effects

Gas Material Balance Analysis |
|
A basic tool for analyzing reservoir performance. The Material balance was originally carried out treating the reservoir as a single tank, defined by a single average reservoir pressure.
The input data comprises the knowledge of average reservoir pressure of reservoir, PVT properties, rock and fluid parameters. The deliverables of the study are:
- Estimating initial hydrocarbons in place
- Predicting future reservoir performance
- Estimating water influx
- Analyzing drive mechanism
- Predicting ultimate hydrocarbon recovery under various primary drive mechanisms
The average reservoir pressure can be found from buildup analysis that should be conducted periodically. Few assumptions like constant temperature, constant reservoir volume and pressure equilibrium (all parts of reservoir having same pressure) are made, indicating it to be a useful reservoir engineering tool.

Rate Transient Analysis |
Rate Transient Analysis uses both fluid rates and pressure history as input parameters, to quantify fluid flow through the reservoir, and thereby determine key parameters such as in-place volumes, EUR, forecast production profile, critical rate, drainage radius, etc.
Deliverables from Rate Transient Analysis: -
- Hydrocarbons in place – IOIP/OGIP
- Estimation of EUR
- Estimation of reservoir parameters including effective permeability, skin and boundaries
- Identification of drive mechanism
- Multiple type curve fits including:
> Blasingame
> Agarwal-Gardner
> Flowing Material Balance
> NPI
> Transient
> Wattenbarger
- Turner correlations for estimating critical rate
- Numerical modeling
- Analytical modeling
- Performance forecasting
