Pressure transient analysis provides vital data towards estimation of virgin reservoir pressure, permeability approximation of the reservoirs and the well completion efficiency.
Input data requires pressure and rate data recorded during the well test operation together with PVT properties of the reservoir like Bo, µo, Ct, GOR
Deliverables of Pressure Transient Analysis -
- Deliverable capacity of the Well
- Hydrocarbon reservoir estimation through volumetric.
- Determination of decline of production rate with reservoir depletion
- Determination of the Skin factor
- Mobility of the Fluid (k/µo)
- Radius of Investigation
- Determination of Reservoir compartmentalization/boundary if possible.
Numerical models capturing exact geometries and boundary conditions, unlike Analytical models can be prepared. The impact of uncertainty in each parameter can be closely evaluated in Sensitivity Analysis. Analysis of multiple layers is also feasible provided production rates for each layer is available.
