Production Log Simulation |
|
Production logging, also called as cased hole logging, involves recording data from highly specialized tools run in the wellbore. Data such as pressure, temperature, density logs, spinners and hold ups are recorded in shut in and flowing conditions that are used to evaluate well and the reservoir performance. Production log (PL) interpretation is seen as a powerful tool to calibrate or check the reservoir models.
Some of the objectives/deliverables of cased hole logging:
- Analysis of dynamic well performance
- Estimating productivity or injectivity of different zones
- Identify problems associated with wells
- Evaluating stimulation jobs
- Evaluation of completion jobs
The various applications of such an interpretation are cross flow detection between layers, diagnosis of sources of high GOR and water cut, detection of leaks and production enhancement/improving productivity together with completion and treatment effectiveness.
