Rate Transient Analysis |
|
The production data collected by the operator company, despite being an invaluable input is often ignored. Rate Transient Analysis is based on pseudo-steady state model of the reservoir that uses production history and flowing bottom hole pressure as input parameters. PVT properties are also required.
- Match between model and data would yield reserve estimates, drainage area, reservoir boundaries
- Forecast generation is possible using anticipated flowing bottom hole pressure. This can be done for all the three phases if need be.
- Decline trend for any well type can be used to generate field profile.
The analytical models developed for rate transient analysis are typically used for single phase flow. Numerical models are then used for multiphase flow predicting all the three phase rates.
